Post #11: Brunch in Hues of Blues

iHello there! Today I'll be posting a couple pictures about an outfit I wore to a Christmas Brunch today. It was so much fun!

The brunch was at my mom's work office, and while it was mainly geared towards young children, we still had a good time with my mom's coworkers and their excellent food and activity choices.

Necklace: INC, Macy's, $10?
Top: Lord & Taylor, $10-$15
Skirt: LoveCulture, $20
Shoes: Zara, on sale for $15

Here's a closeup so you can see the makeup I did today :)

On a side note, we also just finished decorating the Christmas tree at my house and it looks lovely this year ;)

What have you done for the holidays so far? Any exciting plans for Christmas?
Blessings!

Post #10: Answers to Reader Questions

Hello!
I'm responding to a couple questions that were asked by a wonderful, avid reader named Grace. God bless your participation and your interest in my blog!
A couple of her questions were:

What's your favorite school subject?
My favorite subject in school is English. I love English because I love to write and analyze pieces of literature (which is especially useful during bible study). I love going into literature with great curiosity and depth.

What music do you listen to?
I listen to a variety of music. I really love instrumental smooth jazz and solo piano pieces. What matters to me about the music I listen to is not so much about the style of the music, but more that it glorifies God and doesn't entice sin. In my opinion, you can listen to heavy metal and it's alright with me as long as the lyrics aren't overly violent or overly sexual.
Luckily for me I tend not to like that music anyways, so I stay safe with my instrumental music :)

Do you have a daily routine?
I do have a daily routine, and honestly when I talk about my routine I get pretty in-depth.
First thing in the morning around 6, I wake up and get ready for school, which includes getting dressed, eating a light breakfast, brushing my teeth, and making my lunch. I leave my house at 6:30 and get to school around 7, which is where I'll stay until 2:20, sometimes later if I have a club meeting after school.
After school I do a variety of things. Sometimes I nap, sometimes I walk my dogs, sometimes I get an early start on homework if I have a lot that night (it can be overwhelming with 3 AP classes!) or sometimes I run errands with my grandmother. At night I usually finish up any homework I have, read, go to church youth group, study the bible, go somewhere with my family or my friends, eat dinner, take a shower then go to bed.

Thank you Grace for your wonderful questions! I'll be posting a cute little outfit I wore this past weekend either tomorrow or Friday ;)
Can you answer the questions that Grace asked me in the comments below to find out a bit about you?
Blessings!

Hi there!
My two week posting hiatus is over.. For now I suppose.
I wasn't able to take any pictures for this post, but I figured that I would keep you in the loop and let you know what's going on in my life.

Well first of all, I'd like to share something with my readers. I'm sharing this not for attention or pity, but because I trust that you won't criticize me or make me feel bad for how I feel.
In the recent months, I was diagnosed with OCD with cohabiting depression. It was an interesting diagnosis to say the least, but it was relieving, because my family and I finally had answers to how I was feeling.
These past couple weeks have been very difficult for me emotionally because of my disorder, and quite frankly it's become difficult to do even essential things, like clean and go to class. But now I feel that next week will be better, and I'll go about posting an outfit or two this weekend ;)

I've also decided to (try) a posting schedule. I'm going to blog about a final copy when I finish it, but this is how it's more or less looking for October:

Every Sunday- Outfit post
Every Wednesday- Q&A answers
Every Friday- Favorite product of the week
Every other Saturday- Outfit and bible study notes
Once a month- life update
Once a month- DIY
For halloween, I will be doing a post on my feelings of halloween, fall decorations. and also how to have a modest halloween costume!

Any posting suggestions that you may have for me?
Blessings!

Hello there!
I'm so sorry about posting my room tour a few days late- being a student can be very hectic and tiring sometimes.

Here's my room tour, and my room isn't exaaaactly perfect, but hey, I figured a little clutter would give it some character (;

For my room color scheme I chose blue hues. (Except for the bookshelves, which are from a previous house I lived in and I haven't gotten around to switching them out to white ones yet!) I think these colors are relaxing, and the lighter colors help in opening up the room and making it look bigger.

Here's a view of my desk, which I am very good about keeping clean. I also write a new biblical quote on a weekly basis to give me encouragement.

This is my bed, and the comforter set I got at Big Lot's for a steal. It's my favorite part of my room because I think the colors really tie everything together and give it the blue accent it needs.

This is the area between my bed and my closet, which is where my hamper and my nightstand is. I love having a coordinated nightstand with my favorite decorations and pictures. On my nightstand I have a little water fountain that lights up with colored LED lights and is very relaxing when you're trying to sleep.

This is my dresser and my lamp in the right corner of my room. I hate having any clutter on my dresser and the lamp is so cool.

The front of my dresser, and you can even see the house that I live in front of ;)

This is one my bookshelves and my tv stand/storage center. I have another black bookshelf to the right of the TV, but I ran out of memory on my phone to take another picture.
I keep books, old toys, and craft boxes on my bookshelves.
In the storage center, I keep accessories in the light blue one on the top left, electronics/cords in the light pink one on the top right, extra school supplies in the dark pink one in the center, small purses in the purple one on the bottom right, and miscellaneous items in the light pink one on the bottom left.

This is my famous closet. It's in color order, and I only keep my shoes, tops, scarves, and dresses in my closet.

This is the bottom of my closet where you can see all the rest of my shoes. I have a looottttt of shoes, a pair for every occasion.

That was my room tour, and I hope you enjoyed it!
What's your favorite feature of your room?
Blessings!

Post #4: Colorado Mountains in a Fall Color Scheme

Hey there!
I'm sorry for the horrible amount of time I've gone without posting.. A wedding in colorado and the first day of school really have taken a toll on my schedule.
I went to colorado for a wedding last week! It was incredible fun, and I give a big congratulations to the bride and the groom on this magical day.
These pictures I took are from the day I went to a place called Maroon bells. Maroon bells is basically the most beautiful place on the face of this planet and my favorite vacation spot, and it's especially more beautiful when the leaves change colors and the brisk fall air sets in.
Unfortunately the wedding didn't occur during those fall months, but the weather was still beautiful and still rather nippy (high of 65 degrees!) and I loved every moment of it.

A couple priceless wedding photos!

Post #3: Olive Garden in Summer Hues

Hey there!
Sorry for the lack of posting.. This south Florida weather really hasn't been holding up lately, so taking pictures has been difficult.

This week I'll be posting about a dress I wore to Olive Garden today.
It's a very functional, summery dress that I loovvee to wear with a like green tank underneath for modesty.

I also had the most delicious lasagna at Olive Garden.. Tons of ricotta cheese and enough tomato sauce to swim in. :p

The shoes are little heels with tons of sequins on them, and they are of the upmost comfort. I love wearing little heels on the weekends, they definitely make me feel more feminine and ladylike.

Dress: Old Navy, Thredup, $6
Tank: Forever 21, $1.80
Heels: Expressions, Thredup, $5

How was your weekend?
What's your favorite restaurant to go to?
Blessings!

Hey there! This is my first post, and considering that this is a modesty blog, i think it should be about my personal modesty standards.
My modesty standards are not something I’ve looked into the bible myself and really researched, but my personal convictions come from seeing other god-loving women dress this way, and also conversations with my significant other have decided what our modesty standards are.
My modesty standards are fairly simple. They are: 4 fingers from the collarbone to below the knee. Skirts shouldn’t prominently show outline of the rear end, and shirts shouldn’t make breasts super obvious. I don’t wear bikinis, I wear either one pieces or a wear a knee length swimskirt with a rashguard. Head-coverings are encouraged, but not needed. Oh, and I forgot to mention, I keep my shoulders covered as well. Jeans are O.K. as long as i wear a long shirt over them.

What are your modesty standards, and how did you decide what they were?
